　１４日午後０時３８分頃、ＪＲ名古屋駅の東海道新幹線上り線で、駅に停車していた東京行きの「こだま７２２号」の１１号車の屋根に異物があるのを駅員が発見した。異物は車両所に設置している車両洗浄装置のブラシの一部とみられ、除去作業のため、出発が４７分遅れた。乗客約１００人が乗車していた。
